At present, most of the 3D reconstruction processes of medical images are completed on PCs. Due to the performance limitations of PCs and the complexity of reconstruction algorithms, the reconstruction efficiency is not high. To address this problem, a 3D reconstruction system based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) was designed and implemented. An architecture based on FSL (Fast Simplex Link) bus was established in the system, and the 3D reconstruction algorithm was improved so that the improved algorithm can run in the newly established architecture. Experiments show that the FPGA-based 3D reconstruction system uses the parallel execution of the reconstruction algorithm in hardware and the FIFO (First In First Out) characteristics of the FSL bus to improve the reconstruction algorithm itself, overcome the time-consuming problem in the PC 3D reconstruction system, and greatly improve the efficiency and real-time performance of 3D reconstruction.
