Can an I-shaped inductor of the same value replace a toroidal inductor? [Copy link]

I need to buy a 10uh toroidal inductor, but there seem to be very few 10uh toroidal inductors on the market. I want to use an I-shaped inductor instead. Is it possible?

Compared with toroidal inductors of the same current and inductance, I-shaped inductors are much larger. Whether they can be replaced depends on the space.  Details Published on 2018-8-19 21:37

In addition to inductance, inductors also have other parameters, such as maximum allowable current and maximum operating frequency, etc. Generally speaking, if the inductance is the same and the maximum allowable current is the same as or greater than the original inductance requirement, they can be replaced.

It is completely OK to use an I-shaped inductor instead, as long as the inductance and rated current are consistent
