The ability to measure harmonic power directly determines the accuracy level of the meter. In order to improve the cost-effectiveness of high-precision three-phase digital meters, a design concept using a high-speed single-chip microcomputer core is proposed. The system hardware framework, software design and related algorithm design for implementing small measurements using a single-chip microcomputer are introduced; the software flow, algorithm analysis, and single-chip microcomputer selection are described; and the requirements for single-chip microcomputer processing capabilities to control the error within 1% are comprehensively analyzed. Keywords: three-phase digital meter, active power, reactive power, phase-shifting network, single-chip microcomputer
