PC-based virtual instrument technology: Traditional instruments are composed of three parts: signal acquisition, signal processing, result expression and instrument control. In traditional instruments, these three parts are implemented by hardware and some fixed software. With the development of computer technology, especially the advancement of digital signal processing technology, the software algorithms that realize various signal processing functions are becoming more and more accurate and faster. In the signal processing part of the instrument, it is possible to replace hardware with software, that is, to replace electronic circuits with algorithms, which can realize the signal processing function of traditional instruments. At the same time, result expression and instrument control are originally the specialties of computers. In this way, the last two parts of traditional instruments (signal processing, result expression and instrument control) are realized by computer software instead of hardware (electronic circuits). The instrument formed based on this idea is called a virtual instrument.
