The FAN501 simplifies the design of isolated power supplies that require constant current regulation on the output. Using information from the primary side of the transformer and controlled by an internal compensation circuit, the output current sensing losses are removed, eliminating the external CC control circuit, resulting in an accurate estimate of the output current. The burst mode with very low operating current (250 µA) maximizes light load efficiency, thus meeting worldwide standby mode efficiency guidelines.
