The hardware structure and software system of mobile phones The hardware structure and software system of mobile phones (I) This paper first introduces the hardware structure and software system of 2.5 generation (2.5G) GSM (GPRS) mobile phones, focusing on the overall technical plan and implementation plan. Finally, it conducts a more in-depth analysis of the steps and measures of its whole system integration, FTA model certification, engineering and industrialization, aiming to make a beneficial discussion with Chinese counterparts on how to develop domestic mobile phones with complete intellectual property rights as soon as possible. (1) RF unit The transmitting channel of the RF unit connects the 270.833kbit/s TDMA frame data stream signal generated by the baseband unit to the GMSK modulation method to form I and Q signals, and then modulates them to 900MHz or 1800MHz RF signals. After passing through the RF switch, they are transmitted by the antenna. The receiving channel amplifies and demodulates the signal received by the antenna through low noise to generate baseband I and Q signals. The analog I and Q signals are digitized through demodulation and equalization to restore the digital baseband signal and send it to the baseband circuit for processing. The local oscillator signal of the RF unit usually obtains the reference frequency from the time base circuit, and then uses the phase-locked loop technology to achieve frequency synthesis. (2) Baseband chip and baseband signal processing circuit With the rapid development of mobile communications, from analog mobile terminals to digital GSM, and then to GPRS and 3G, the system has become more and more complex. At the same time, the miniaturization and chipization of electronic systems are becoming the main goals pursued by system designers. \"System on chip, Silicon in system\" has become a trend, which has brought unprecedented challenges to designers. GSM baseband chips are key components of communication terminal products. Currently, the more popular ones are single IC packaging and dual IC packaging. Many companies can supply complete sets of chipsets in large quantities, such as TI, ADL/TIP, Lucent, VLSI, etc. This is a great opportunity for domestic mobile phone baseband chips...
