TL8168-EVM is a DSP+ARM architecture development platform designed by Guangzhou Chuanglong based on floating-point DSP C674x + ARM Cortex-A8 high-performance video processor. The platform is mainly used to evaluate the multi-channel audio and video acquisition, processing, encoding and compression capabilities of the processor. The TL8168-EVM development board has a rich video physical I/O interface, which can realize multi-channel HD and SD video input and output, and is widely used in machine vision, HD video conferencing, mobile medical imaging and other fields.

The TL8168-EVM baseboard adopts a 4-layer board design with immersion gold lead-free process, rich standard industrial interfaces, and powerful expansion capabilities, providing a good test platform for customers to quickly evaluate the overall performance of the SOM-TL8168 core board. Guangzhou Chuanglong not only provides customers with a wealth of TMS320DM8168 introductory tutorials, but also provides a wealth of demo programs and DSP+ARM dual-core communication development tutorials to assist customers in baseboard design and debugging and DSP+ARM software development, providing long-term and comprehensive technical support to help customers conduct secondary development of products at a faster speed and achieve rapid product launch.

Development Board Introduction

Based on TI Da Vinci series TMS320DM8168 floating-point DSP C674x + ARM Cortex-A8 high-performance video processor;

Powerful video encoding and decoding capabilities, with 3 independent programmable high-definition video image coprocessors, supporting 12-channel 720P30 or 3-channel 1080P60 or 6-channel 1080P30/1080I60 video encoding and decoding;

With 4 independent V-PORT video input ports, you can flexibly connect to the video input module:

4-way 8-bit HD 1080P30/1080I60 input

16-channel SD 480I60 D1 input

Supports multi-channel video output: 3-channel HD 1080P60 + 1-channel SD C-Video + 1-channel SD S-Video;

The development board provides a variety of video physical I/O interfaces: 1 HDMI 1.3 output interface + 1 VGA output interface + 2 standard definition analog video output interfaces + 2 LCD (1 resistive screen/1 capacitive screen) output interfaces;

GPU: SGX530 3D graphics engine, supporting OpenGLES 1.1/2.0, OpenVG 1.0 and OpenMax API;

Rich peripheral interfaces, integrated dual Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, GPMC, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, VGA, HDMI, LCD and other interfaces, and supports 2-way SATA interface for massive data storage;

Farad capacitor circuit, fast charging, strong discharge capacity, high energy conversion efficiency, recycling and long life;

Provides a variety of standard industrial interfaces, can connect multi-channel AD, DA and other modules, and has strong expansion capabilities;

Meet high and low temperature and vibration requirements, suitable for various harsh working environments;

The core board and the baseboard are connected using industrial-grade precision B2B connectors with a 0.5mm pitch, which are stable, easy to plug and unplug, and anti-reverse plug. All big data interfaces use high-speed connectors to ensure signal integrity.

Support bare metal, SYS/BIOS operating system, Linux operating system, etc.

Core board size: 86mm*60mm, development board size: 240mm*184mm.
