Abstract: Aliasing caused by out-of-band spurious signals is a critical problem in A/D converter applications. Without proper filtering, these signals can seriously affect the performance of data conversion systems. This article discusses the principles of anti-aliasing filtering and its impact on system performance. It is illustrated through a first-class, cost-effective, complete system example that uses an integrated switched capacitor device to implement this important function. This article covers almost all the important parameters and practical issues related to high-performance system design.
