Aiming at the waveform modulation phenomenon that often occurs in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) pulse compression systems, a new method to suppress modulation and improve the quality of narrow pulse waveforms is proposed - a two-stage SBS pulse compression structure. This method uses \"double compression, sub-peak energy main peak extraction\" as a control means to solve the multi-peak modulation problem of the output pulse, and is expected to become a new way to obtain high compression ratio, high-quality narrow pulses. The physical model and numerical calculation model of the two-stage SBS pulse compression system are proposed and established, and experimental research is carried out using typical SBS media CCl4 and FC-72 to obtain compressed pulses with a non-modulated single-peak structure, which is in good agreement with the theoretical simulation results.
