Neon lamp is a kind of decorative glow discharge lamp. After the neon lamp tube is evacuated, a small amount of inert gases such as hen, ammonia, xenon or a small amount of
mercury are added to make the neon lamp emit various bright colors during glow discharge. It can be bent into various patterns and text according to the needs of decoration. In recent years, it has been widely
used in advertising and decorative lights in large buildings and shopping malls. By connecting a control device to a neon light circuit , you can also obtain cyclically changing color patterns
and a flickering light effect.
Principles and circuits of neon lamps: Neon lamps mainly rely on neon lamp transformers to provide the high voltage required for glow discharge and limit
the current in the lamp circuit. Commonly used neon light transformers have a primary voltage of 220V and a current of more than 2A; a secondary voltage of 15000V and a current
of 24mA. It can generally light up a lamp tube with a length of 12m and a diameter of 12mm. The working circuit diagram of the neon light is shown in the figure. It is powered by
220V voltage, which is boosted by the neon flux leakage transformer to make the neon tube discharge and glow. In practical applications, in order to increase the flashing effect , neon lights
are often added with a high-voltage rotating machine and a low-voltage roller. The high-voltage rotating machine is roughly composed of a coil induction plate, a spindle, a contact piece and a fixed
contact . When the coil is energized, magnetic induction is generated. The induction plate is driven, thereby driving the contact piece to rotate, and each discharge lamp tube is connected in turn, so that the light tube
changes in light and dark sequence.
