A patch pad direction rule in Altium Designer,,, [Copy link]

This post was last edited by qwqwqw2088 on 2018-9-5 16:29 Recently, I reinstalled the system and installed a new version of Altium Designer. There is a SMD pad direction rule (SMD Entry). The rule setting didn’t exist before... I guess some of you have already used it, but it doesn’t matter to introduce it to you here...
SMD Pad Direction Rule (SMD Entry)
SMD EntryThe rule is used to define the directions in which Track allows access when connecting to SMD device pads. The three options mean:
1. If "Any Angle" is checked, the Pad can be connected in all directions. 2. Check "Corner" to allow the wire to connect from the corner of the pad; 3. Check "Side" to allow the wire to connect from the longer end of the pad at 90 degrees. The length of the longer end (side) defined here must be twice the width of the pad, otherwise the rule does not apply. But if none of these three options are checked, what will happen? The following figure shows the situation where the three options are not checked: the wire can only be connected to the pad from the shorter end,,, This content is originally created by EEWORLD forum user qwqwqw2088.
