With the rapid development of the PC industry, the industry is replacing traditional solutions. In the past three decades, the development of industrial control, testing and automation has been dominated by proprietary technologies, such as PLC and various field buses. However, since the improvement of Intel's CPU speed and stability, and the widespread adoption of Microsoft in the operating system, the functions of PCs are no longer limited to network functions and data processing. The promotion of PC technology has led to the development of various industrial computer specifications , such as PICMG's single-board computer specifications, PC/104+ specifications for embedded applications, and the birth of PXI/CompactPCI specifications. Currently, PXI systems have been widely and successfully used in automotive testing, semiconductor testing, functional testing, aviation equipment testing, and military applications. Compared with other industrial specifications, PXI has better performance and lower cost advantages. This article will specifically discuss the development and current status of PXI technology.
