I scored more than 100 points above the first-tier line. What major should I choose? [Copy link]

The scores have been released in the past few days, and college entrance examination candidates have started to choose their majors. Choosing a major is actually a commonplace topic. Because the situation is different every year, everyone has different suggestions every year. For example, this year's "ZTE incident" has a great impact on the electronics industry. Some people think that in the future, the country will strive to develop the semiconductor industry, and it is right to choose a major related to this. Some people have different opinions on this. A relative of mine passed the first-tier line by more than 100 points and encountered this problem. He wanted to choose an electronics major, but there are too many types, and he didn't know what he would do specifically after graduation. He wanted to choose a language that he is good at (he learned Russian in middle school and is also very good at English), but he heard that he had to study abroad to develop, so he was entangled. How did you choose your major at that time? Please share your thoughts in the post!

It's really hard to choose. After reading an article "China's Most Profitable Occupation Has a Cycle of Ten Years", I can't say for sure. Choose a good school.  Details Published on 2018-12-28 22:17

At that time, there were three majors that I paid the most attention to: automation, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. (I ended up choosing electrical automation, which is more of a weak current major.) Why did I choose this major? It was because I looked up the introductions of various majors online and found that these majors required the most courses to learn, so I chose them. I don’t know why I thought so at the time.

Now it's pretty good, right? Just choose what you're interested in.

At that time, I chose automation (control direction). Why? Because the name sounds more advanced, automation control

Almost. I understood it literally at that time. I also applied for other majors such as mechanical engineering and automation. I majored in electrical engineering and automation. At that time, I always thought that I had to learn the contents of both electrical engineering and automation, which was awesome.  Details Published on 2018-6-27 11:33

That's about it. At that time, I understood it literally. Other majors include Mechanical Engineering Automation, etc. I majored in Electrical Engineering and Automation. The name was changed to Electrical Engineering and Automation in the year of graduation

Study economics. No matter what major you choose, you ultimately have to make money to survive. The more money you earn, the more freedom you will have.

Now, I don't recommend studying electronics, but it's another matter if you really like it.

If your score is too high, you should choose basic research and complex industries, because these industries either require high academic qualifications or require proficiency in multiple areas. High scores in the college entrance examination indicate that you have a strong learning ability. Choosing a complex major should be affordable and easy to find a job. In addition, you can study several majors at the same time! How can you get multiple degrees?

That makes sense, but I don't know if I can study as hard as I did in high school.  Details Published on 2018-6-27 14:28

I have a friend who is in the loan business, and he is also half in the financial circle. Now it seems that he makes more money than me and other classmates.

Yes, in all these years, only one relative's child chose his or her major by himself or herself, without anyone interfering. Now he or she has achieved academic success. The rest of them have no idea what they want to do or study, and almost all rely on others' suggestions.  Details Published on 2018-6-27 14:39

Yes, it is more serious for rural students. They have limited horizons, don’t know much about majors, and don’t know what they like. Take me for example. I was born in a rural area. I liked playing with computers, so I applied for computer science and technology. But when I changed from freshman to sophomore, I changed to electronic information. According to normal standards, I should have lost out.  Details Published on 2018-6-27 17:41

Yes, it is more serious in rural areas. They have limited horizons, don’t understand majors, and don’t know what they like. Take me as an example. I was born in the countryside and I liked playing computers at that time, so I applied for computer science and technology, but when I was a freshman and transferred to sophomore, I switched to electronic information. According to normal standards, I should have lost out. Now those who work in IT have more money prospects than those who work in electronics (with the same level of foundation), and I don’t really love electronics, I just don’t hate it. So I suggested earlier that if you don’t really like a major, it’s best to choose a promising major.

The country has also vigorously developed semiconductors before, but it has not entered the public eye. In addition, this cannot be relied on by the country. Where has the guarantee given by the country gone? I once saw someone say that hardware and software are spirally rising, and Feng Shui turns around.

If you are mainly interested in something, choose what you like. If you are mainly interested in money, you can consider finance. Language majors are not recommended. If you go to another country, you may not have the professional skills. If you choose the technical route, you can choose high-end technology that has future development.
