Activity Rules:

As someone who has participated in the national competition, many years have passed, but the experience is still vivid. I would like to share a few of my own views: various modules should be fully prepared, and several should be prepared, such as amplifier modules, power modules, etc.; the DuPont cables for connection should be of good quality, which was a disadvantage for me that year. During the on-site scoring test, it was the poor quality DuPont cables that did not make good contact, resulting in incorrect signals ; another thing is not to give up until the last moment. Another pair of students under the same tutor that year chose a very novel topic. Halfway through the time, they were ready to give up. In the end, one of the three team members persisted, although he only completed a part, but but, but, here comes the point. Everyone who chose this topic that year did not do well, and ended up with a second place in the national exam. So don't give up, the result may be better than you think.

As a college student, I was lucky enough to participate in two electronic competitions. In 2010, as a freshman, I didn’t know anything, so I followed my sophomore seniors to participate in the 2010 TI Cup Analog Electronic System Design Competition (also known as the provincial competition).

The students who participated in the competition gave up their summer vacation and came to school early for training, which lasted for one month. After the training, the official competition began.

I gained a lot during this month of training, but I guess everyone will laugh at me if I tell them.

The first thing I learned was how to read datasheets, where to download chip manuals, and how to read the parameters and data in chips. (During my freshman year, I mainly took cultural courses and did not learn any professional knowledge at all).

The second benefit was that I learned about commonly used components and how to use a soldering iron. It was basically my first time using one, and I learned how to solder TQFP package chips.

The third gain is that I learned Protel99 SE drawing software and EDA simulation software. Learning these two software is extremely important for subsequent competitions and even work.

I think the above three points are the biggest gains during the training. (I later realized that I learned these things in my sophomore year, which is equivalent to learning them in advance)

In the last week of the training camp, a teacher will assign a competition question (which may be from previous years, or guessed based on experience), which allows students to feel the atmosphere of the competition in advance.

At this time, the three people in each group must have a clear division of labor. The model in our school is basically that the sophomores do the work, and the freshmen serve as assistants to find information and devices. You must unite and avoid internal conflicts, otherwise you will fail.

The e-sports competition started. I remember that year it was 7 days and 6 nights. It was really hard to endure. We must allocate our energy well. Don't try to be too ambitious and stay up all night. Your body can't handle it. During the competition, don't get stuck in a rut or show your personality. It's unnecessary. You must be united.

Competitions are always cruel. You have to make something in 7 days and 6 nights. If you succeed, you will win. Otherwise, you will fail. This kind of impact is very good. I advise all juniors to give it a try. It will expose a lot of your character. Your will and ability, including your ability to cooperate, will be perfectly reflected. It is a time for people to clearly discover their own problems.

In the end, we failed, which can be summed up in four words: "We are not as skilled as others" .

What I learned in class were all professional knowledge from books, but from the beginning of preparing for the national competition, it was a process of applying knowledge and practicing. During this period, I learned to query and read datasheets, AD drawing, manual welding, self-made PCB, microcontroller programming, etc. It really opened up a lot of electronic treasures in a relatively short period of time. I stayed in the school laboratory for the entire summer vacation to work together, work overtime to solve circuit problems, search for information everywhere to ask teachers for help in debugging program bugs, etc. I still miss these youthful experiences. In short, study hard, prepare seriously, dare to do it, and be innovative. However, no matter what the final result is, it is a precious wealth in life.
