Power supply market and manufacturer analysis[Copy link]
In recent years, as the country has vigorously carried out the construction of communication projects, the annual investment in both fixed and mobile networks has reached tens of billions. In 1999, the national telecommunications fixed asset investment amounted to 120 billion yuan, of which China Telecom was 76.2 billion yuan, China Mobile Communications Company was 55 billion yuan, China Unicom was 30 billion yuan, and China Post was 40 billion yuan. Divided into power products, the annual market capacity has reached more than 3 billion yuan. In addition to the demand capacity of some special networks such as radio and television, military networks, power grids and railway networks, the power demand capacity of the entire domestic power market has reached nearly 4 billion yuan. Compared with the market capacity of less than 1 billion yuan in the early 1990s, it is simply incomparable.
Due to the huge market demand for power equipment, power supply manufacturers have sprung up like mushrooms after rain and have grown rapidly. Some new manufacturers have also continuously joined the ranks of competition. Foreign old power supply manufacturers are also eyeing this market, hoping to get a share of it. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 300 power supply manufacturers of all sizes in China. According to the actual situation of different manufacturers, from the perspective of corporate background, power supply manufacturers can be roughly divided into four categories:?
First, there are some large-scale communication equipment manufacturers. These manufacturers generally have a large scale and strong strength. The product range of their business ranges from switching, transmission to access, mobile, data products, etc., basically covering all aspects of the communication field. In view of the high return on investment and market capacity of the closely related communication power supply market, these companies have all entered this market, such as ZTE. Because of their scale and strength as a backing, these companies generally have large sales of power supply products, and are the best choice for customers who need to provide buyer credit. In addition, the sales volume of other products of this type of supplier cannot be ignored. With its strong strength and perfect sales network, ZTE is now at the forefront of the country in terms of technological advancement and production and sales scale, especially its 50A rectifier PS-ZVZCS-PWM conversion technology, which is the first to be adopted among domestic peers, and few manufacturers can do it so far.?
Secondly, there are some professional and established power supply manufacturers. Most of these manufacturers have the industry background of the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and they still have close ties with the upper level of the ministry and the design institute. These manufacturers have basically started to manufacture and sell power products since the 1980s or earlier. Generally speaking, they have a group of loyal customers and a complete sales network, and they still have a certain share in the current power market. Typical manufacturers include Intercontinental and Pearl River Power. ?
The other is some new professional power supply manufacturers that are born in response to the needs of the market economy. These manufacturers were basically born in the early 1990s, usually starting from scratch or with only weak funds. Relying on the keen market insight of their leaders, these companies seized the good market opportunities for the rapid development of communication power supplies and grew rapidly. They have continued to grow and develop in the fierce market competition and have reached a certain scale so far. The more representative manufacturers are Tonglihuan, Power Source, Jindian, etc. ?
The fourth type of enterprises are some Sino-foreign joint venture power supply manufacturers. Due to the huge market potential of China's communication power supplies, foreign old power supply manufacturers have rushed to China, but because they do not know much about China's national conditions, they need to rely on the strength of other domestic companies, which has created such joint ventures. Most of these companies have some industry backgrounds and use relatively advanced and mature power supply technologies from abroad. They enjoy a high reputation among domestic users, especially mobile users. Typical manufacturers include Zhongda SMIC, Asia-Australia and Shanghai Siemens. It is foreseeable that with the further maturity of the market economy and the continuous standardization of corporate operations in the telecommunications sector, these companies will gradually fade out of the power supply market.
