 ## Extended task Use an external SHT40 temperature and humidity sensor to upload temperature and humidity to HA, and display the data through the HA panel. ### I2C and Qwiic [Official Documentation ](https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/uno-r4-wifi/qwiic/) I2C is the communication protocol used in Qwiic, which allows you to connect many peripherals to a single controller board using only two pins. Qwiic is an ecosystem of breakout modules and development boards with a so-called Qwiic connector. For example, the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi has one. The Qwiic ecosystem combines the flexibility of I2C with the ease of use of pre-bundled cables, making it very easy to create a family of I2C devices by collecting all the pins to get a large network of I2C devices up and running in a single cable.  ## Activity Experience After participating in the Digi-Key FollowMe Season 2 event, I became more interested in electronic hardware design and the Internet of Things. The simple "Blink" test in the introductory task allowed me to quickly become familiar with the basic operations of Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, while the basic tasks of driving dot matrix LEDs and signal processing allowed me to gradually master the basics of the application in the hands-on process. I have established a systematic thinking. Especially in terms of Wi-Fi communication and MQTT protocol, by connecting to the HA platform, I not only understand the basic implementation methods of smart home, but also experience the actual effect of IoT applications. The extended task selected SHT40 temperature and humidity The process of uploading environmental data from sensors to the HA platform made me realize that the collection and uploading of sensor data is not just a simple data output, but a stable and reliable effect can only be achieved through reasonable software and hardware collaboration. In IoT devices, the optimization of hardware programming and network communication is important for the overall application experience. The whole activity also cultivated my ability to solve problems independently. For example, when debugging sensor connections, I encountered unstable data transmission due to interface compatibility and communication protocol issues. By consulting the documentation, adjusting the configuration, and getting help from other participants in the forum, I finally succeeded.
