[Renesas RA8D1 development board, graphics MCU evaluation based on M85 core] + Renesas software exploration [Copy link]

Renesas currently has its own IDE and also has open source software on Git, so it’s a bit confusing. Today I’m going to explore the download configuration of Renesas software under Windows.

https://github.com/renesas/fsp/releases

Let's first look at what is published on git. There are basically three things: one is the FSP package, the following is the e2 stuido package containing the latest FSP, and a ra smart configuration package. Basically, the first one can be used when you install e2 Stuido, and it is used to upgrade the FSP support package inside e2 studio. The second one is for when you already have e2 Studio, and you can open it directly after installation. The third one is for external configuration projects, and can generate Keil and IAR projects.

All software packages are installed by default in Renesas in drive C. If you install e2 studio independently, there will be a separate folder, and the others are in the RA directory.

After installation, the two exe files will be as above. At this time, in e2 stuido, the latest version of FSP is installed in the beginning, and there is also an e2 stuido software in it that can be opened and used.

Normally, e2 stuido is installed separately and then updated. In this case, you can use the first FSP pack and install it in the e2 stuido path.

After this is completed, when we enter the IDE again, new FSP support will appear.

He gave an extra separate one, so it was quite confusing. Both methods can update to the latest FSP, so they can be used.
