Is there any safety hazard when using a rechargeable fan after removing the battery pack? [Copy link]

Help: I have a small rechargeable fan, but the battery has been worn out after a long time. I am planning to remove the battery pack and use a power adapter to power it.

I would like to ask all forum friends, if this is used, will there be damage to the electric control board or hidden dangers in electrical safety? The following is the internal structure after disassembly:

Back of the electric control board, battery pack interface, motor interface
Front of electric control panel

Battery Pack Information

After removing the battery pack, the fan will operate normally, but the battery charging indicator will keep flashing

Definitely not. Although the 5V voltage is similar to the battery, after all, a battery-powered design will be affected by long-term use.  Details Published on 2024-7-10 17:05

Is there any potential safety hazard in the electric control board or electricity use? -------I personally think that the circuit board should not be damaged, and it is safer without batteries. In fact, there are safety hazards only when there are lithium batteries.

I had the same idea. I originally thought that if the fan failed or could not be used after the battery pack was removed, I would buy a large AC fan. I did not expect that it worked normally after the battery pack was removed. So I saved money and bought it.  Details Published on 2024-7-6 11:59

There is definitely no problem, just use DC power, don't use 220V!

Yes, it only has a micro-USB port and DC output, and will not use AC direct power supply  Details Published on 2024-7-6 11:56

Or you can buy a similar battery and replace it, so that you can continue to keep cool all summer when there is a power outage!

In fact, it's similar to what the above person said. I'm afraid that this battery has safety risks. It gets so hot when charging that it makes people panic. It's better not to use the battery. There is basically no power outage here, which is enough to meet the requirements.  Details Published on 2024-7-6 11:54

If the fan indicator light indicates a battery failure, you can put an electrolytic capacitor of about 100uF in the battery interface, and it will most likely work.  Details Published on 2024-7-6 13:42

In the hot summer, the fan is working almost all day long, the battery pack is constantly charging, and the temperature of the machine is so hot that it makes people feel uneasy.

OK, thank you. There is no fault error in the current use, only the charging indicator light is flashing. There should be no problem  Details Published on 2024-7-6 14:09

Because the battery has been severely damaged after being stored for a long time, remove the battery pack and power it directly with the power adapter:

feasible!

No problem, the label on the back already indicates the input voltage, just use a 5V adapter

As long as the original product is compliant and the input voltage after modification does not exceed the original voltage, it will be fine.

There's nothing wrong with USB power supply, and it's normal for the battery pack to heat up with a 2A charging current. At worst, the charger and control board will be protected if something goes wrong.

This should be no problem. My laptop battery was not working properly before and kept giving errors. I just took it apart and plugged it in.

It can be used, no big problem, but the wind speed cannot be adjusted when plugged in, and you need to plug in a power bank when using it outside

The wind speed can be adjusted when plugged in. The fan blades are a bit large, so it's not suitable to hold it when going out.  Details Published on 2024-7-8 15:18
