[Re-evaluation of domestic chip AGM AG32VF407] 01: Who is AGM? [Copy link]

This post was last edited by Black House White Witch on 2024-2-21 23:04

## background

Let me first explain why I posted this today, because I went to adjust another board:

[Re-evaluation of Renesas FPB_RA6E2 evaluation board] The MCU is actually locked (4/10)

This is my first time to review a development board. I don't know how the administrator handles the situation of getting two boards at once.

##AGM

Due to work reasons, I have come into contact with Anlu's CPLDs quite a lot and am familiar with Anlu's software. I have also used ALTERA's products and a certain version of Quartus.

I searched for AGM on the Internet and found that some people said that it and Anlu jointly boosted the domestic civilian CPLD market; others said that AGM was completely inferior to Anlu in CPLD.

After studying the documentation of this board and past reviews, I found that this product is mainly an ARM microcontroller imitating STM32, but with a small CPLD for function expansion. Most people also use it as a microcontroller.

The ARM part is similar to other products, except that the official provides VSCODE drivers. If it weren't for the compilation and burning issues, I would be more accustomed to programming with VSCODE. The learning cost is very low and you can use it right away. Before the update folder security reminder, the opening speed was also fast among various IDEs. This time the official arrangement of VSCODE drivers is more convenient.

The CPLD part is very suspicious. You use Quartus to compile the system, even though you still need to use Supra to program it. That's... you are suspicious.

The Quartus installation package is directly posted on the evaluation page, which is indeed convenient for many evaluation forum friends.

Does anyone know whether AGM's localization is reliable?

Development Board

I don't know if it's because of the way I opened the computer, but I couldn't find any information about the development board. All I could find was the reference design in the chip information.

There is no model number on the board, only a Taobao link... Is this an evaluation by an agent rather than the original manufacturer?

Because I couldn't find any information about the development board...I can only evaluate its appearance.

The black solder mask gives me a headache... It's just OK, the components are sparse, and it looks fine for high-speed operation as long as you don't pursue equal length.

At least it's better than the development board from Renesas next door.

As for the development board...it's fine as long as it can be used, and there are no high application requirements.

## Tips

I would like to make a small suggestion to the evaluation section. I hope that the evaluation materials can be compressed into a package for easy downloading. There are a lot of documents for this development board, and I need to download and rename them one by one, which gives me a headache.

These documents are not large, so compressing them into a compressed file will also make it easier for reviewers.

Hahahaha, that shouldn't be the case. There are many domestically produced FPGAs, but the ecosystem is not very good.   Details Published on 2024-2-26 09:05

The Renesas board is a free gift, and since we are not sure whether it can work properly, it can be given away to those who have applied for it.

Your AGM requires sharing according to the plan

What does it mean if the resource provided by the original manufacturer does not have a model number? What other information is needed?

I only found information about the chip in the review post, but not about the development board. I wonder if I missed it.  Details Published on 2024-2-22 15:28

Small suggestion received, we will consider it;

The reason for displaying them separately is that netizens can download them on demand. We will consider putting them in a compressed package later.

Renesas's development board also provides PCB drawings, and AGM's board also has them, but this does not affect the evaluation.  Details Published on 2024-2-22 21:56

I'm not worried about it not being usable, I'm just worried it's a fake domestic product.  Details Published on 2024-2-25 21:41

LitchiCheng published on 2024-2-25 21:08 You can take a look at my post. Last time I tested AG32VF407 AGRV2K Verilog double edge detection output square wave - Evaluation Center Special Edition - Electronic Engineering...

I'm not worried about it not being usable, I'm just worried it's a fake domestic product.
