Similar to the input capacitance of an op amp, this parameter is very important. When you use a switch in a digital circuit, it affects the slope of the rising and falling edges. When driving a circuit, it affects the driving current (i.e. the current used to charge the capacitor).
The first one above is the manual of the domestic switch, and the second one is the manual of the TI switch.
