Overview:
TP5000 is a switch step-down single-cell manganese lithium battery/lithium iron phosphate battery charging management chip. Its QFN-16 ultra-small package and simple peripheral circuit make TP5000 very suitable for high-current charging management applications of portable devices. At the same time, TP5000 has input overcurrent, undervoltage protection, chip overtemperature protection, short circuit protection, and battery temperature monitoring. TP5000 has a wide input voltage, and the battery charging is divided into three stages: trickle pre-charge, constant current, and constant voltage. The trickle pre-charge current and constant current charging current are adjusted by external resistors, and the maximum charging current is 2A. TP5000 uses a switching working mode with a frequency of 800kHz, which allows it to use smaller peripheral devices and still maintain a small heat generation during high-current charging. TP5000 has built-in power PMOSFET and anti-backflow circuit, so there is no need for peripheral protection such as anti-backflow Schottky diode. The constant current function of TP5000 can also be used for 2 strings of lithium batteries or 4 strings of dry batteries input, constant current drive 0.5-7W white light LED.
