The "Follow me event" is a one-year "Learn technology from technology experts, complete tasks and get cash back" event initiated by DigiKey and EEWORLD. There will be 4 sessions in 2023. Every 3 months, technology experts will recommend development boards/instrument kits with strong playability and learnability, and take everyone to actual operation.
Within the specified time, participants can get cash back on the order fee (the maximum cash back amount is 300 yuan, [labor cash] and [JD card + red envelope] can be selected from two methods). After evaluation, those who complete the task well will also receive additional rewards. The

Registration Instructions
1. After the registration is over, we will select the finalists from all the registered users based on their personal information, learning objectives, and submission time. We will announce and email the finalists for matters such as ordering task materials.
2. Any violation such as using a pseudonym or unclear user information will be deemed as an invalid application.

Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3 is an IoT mini development board based on the Espressif ESP32-C3 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dual-mode chip. ESP32-C3 is a 32-bit RISC-V CPU with powerful computing power, including FPU (floating point unit) for 32-bit single-precision operations. It has excellent RF performance and supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 (LE) protocols. As the name suggests, Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3 has a small and exquisite appearance and can also be integrated into more complex PCBs through surface mounting.

4. Complete the tasks specified in this period
Instructions for the designated tasks in this issue: Participants need to use the required motherboard to complete the first five tasks. Task 6, comprehensive practice, is an optional open-ended task. Participants can also customize the topic to complete the comprehensive practice.
Note: After being shortlisted, you must place an order for the required motherboard specified in the event on the Digi-Key official website.
Task 1: Use MicroPython system (must-do task)
to get familiar with the basic operation of Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3 development board, install esptool, and flash the MicroPython system to the development board to complete the operation of the entry program

Task 6: Comprehensive practice (optional, not required) : Choose one of the following task requirements to complete, or customize tasks of similar difficulty according to your interests, hobbies and abilities.
■ Subtask 1: Find the location of the WiFi transmitter
Measure the WiFi signal strength in real time, and move the development board to find the location of the WiFi transmitter (such as a router).
■ Subtask 2: Temperature and humidity data logger
Record the values of the temperature and humidity sensors regularly and display them. It can be recorded in the built-in storage of the development board, or the data can be sent to the cloud through the Internet of Things service.
■ Subtask 3: Light-on reminder
Monitor the ambient light intensity. If the light is too dark, remind the user to turn on the light through the screen and buzzer to protect eyesight.
