Just three months after its establishment, Guangdong New Energy Storage National Research Institute Co., Ltd. invested 3.61 billion yuan to build nine new energy storage innovation and demonstration bases.

As of now, the Guangdong New Energy Storage Innovation Center Demonstration Base projects planned to be invested and constructed by Guangdong New Energy Storage National Research Institute Co., Ltd. in Yunfu, Huizhou Huiyang, Huizhou Boluo, Qingyuan Qingxin, Zhaoqing Sihui, Qingyuan Liannan, Jieyang Huilai, Shaoguan Lechang, and Foshan Shunde in Guangdong Province have completed filing, involving a total investment of 3.61 billion yuan and a storage capacity of over 700MW.

The nine bases are respectively focusing on single and composite energy storage technologies such as new lithium batteries, sodium-ion batteries, superconducting magnetic energy storage, compressed air energy storage, new solid-state batteries, and supercapacitors. The Yunfu base will start construction this year, and the remaining bases will start construction next year.
