Amazon's layoffs exceed 17,000 [Copy link]

According to the Wall Street Journal on the 5th, Amazon will lay off more than 17,000 employees beyond its original plan.

The report mentioned that people familiar with the matter revealed that Amazon's layoffs will affect more than 17,000 employees, which is higher than the company's initial plan. This will be the largest number of layoffs in the wave of layoffs among major technology companies so far.

The report cited people familiar with the matter as saying that the layoffs will be completed in the coming weeks. As of September, Amazon employed 1.5 million people, a large portion of whom worked in its warehouses. Some of the people familiar with the matter said the layoffs were mainly concentrated at the company's corporate level.

It was previously reported that Amazon may cut about 10,000 jobs, including in retail, equipment and human resources departments, but the final number may change and the layoffs will affect about 3% of its company's employees.

An Amazon spokesperson said at the time, "Given the current macroeconomic environment, and rapid hiring over the past few years, some teams are making adjustments, which in some cases means that certain roles are no longer needed. We do not make these decisions lightly, and we are working hard to support any employees who may be affected."

The problem is, laying off some of the breadwinners

I have indeed seen examples of "choice is more important than hard work" Some people have average qualifications but good emotional intelligence, and they thrive among ordinary people and reach the upper limit of their abilities. Once there is any sign of trouble, such as being disliked by the new leader, they will jump ship immediately. Although such people may not achieve anything great, compared with the other 2/3 of workers, they are already doing very well.   Details Published on 2023-1-7 15:58

The year-end bonus is still quite large, and it is really possible to save money by laying off employees before the New Year.

Some are happy while others are sad. If you can't catch up with the trend, you will fall behind. Living is the purpose.

Why is it always carried out at the end of the year?

The year-end bonus is just a way to get rid of the trouble.

The year-end bonus was originally intended to be an incentive bonus, but now it has been ruined by the capitalists. I have basically figured out the capitalist routine. I earn more, and the extra part goes to you. I earn less, so you have to give me what you should take. I lose money, and the money you save is my profit. I am bankrupt, and you all owe me. No wonder you all want to start a business, it's a huge profit.

I have never worked in a foreign company, I don't know what F1 is, and I don't know when Amazon will give out year-end bonuses. Based on the Chinese New Year, Amazon's New Year should be on New Year's Day.  Details Published on 2023-1-5 15:06

February and March are the end of the fiscal year, so the year-end announcements are usually made in March and September.  Details Published on 2023-1-5 18:07

I have never worked in a foreign company, so I don’t know what F1 is, nor do I know when Amazon will issue year-end bonuses. Based on the Chinese “year” alone, Amazon’s year should be on New Year’s Day

February and March are the end of the fiscal year, so the year-end announcements are usually made in March and September.

Amazon's layoffs are ruthless

Has Ya been mainly engaged in the Internet of Things in recent years?

2022 is really difficult. The epidemic continues, and Russia is not satisfied enough and wants to intervene.

2023, the soap opera of the epidemic and the war between geese and black birds, one of them should end... otherwise everyone will go crazy

I think it's useless. You can just lay off as many people as you need and die as entrepreneurs. It's better to choose the right industry.  Details Published on 2023-1-6 17:09
