Bought a very good ESP32-S2 development board [Copy link]

I want to play with ESP32-S2 recently. I bought ESP32-CAM before, but the reserved I/O was too few and inconvenient to use. A few days ago, I saw a model online. The price was very cheap, 18.8 including shipping, and the board had relatively complete reserved I/O.

However, when I saw that there were no sales, I placed an order to try. I didn't see any logistics information and thought it could not be shipped. Unexpectedly, I received the express delivery a few days later. Because I was out of town, I asked someone to open it and saw that it was this development board. Then I contacted customer service to urge "shipping" before confirming receipt.

I got the board today and was ready to test it. I looked at the front and back and found no wiring. I thought it was a design problem and no wiring. They just soldered the module to the perfboard and let us play with flying wires, because it seems that this kind of board does not need to use a 4-layer board. However, the serial number seems to be related to the IO of ESP32-S2.

After plugging in the USB, the WS2812 light comes on, but the wiring connected to the 21 pad disappears. I use a multimeter to test that the 21 pad and the module are connected, which means the wire is on the inner layer. Sure enough, it is a 4-layer board, or 6-layer? 8-layer? Anyway, it is quite luxurious.

ESP32-S2-WROOM is no longer officially recommended by Espressif for new designs, but the performance of this module is indeed very powerful. If you are interested, you can learn more about it. I personally think this is a very good board.

S3 is better than S2

I was looking at the peripherals on the product page on the official website. The S2 has USB LCD and CAM interfaces. After hearing what you said, I looked at the specification again. It seems that the S3 also has what the S2 has.  Details Published on 2022-9-1 10:30

Now you can buy a powerful board for 20 yuan, but 20 yuan can't even buy milk tea.

How is the effect of using it? Is there any follow-up for everyone's reference? Come on, OP.

This seems to be based on the foreign LOLIN S2 Mini development board. It has no external expansion chip and uses the Flash that comes with the chip.
