[2022 Digi-Key Innovation Design Competition] 7508DK CNC adjustable power supply power supply part update [Copy link]

It has been almost a month since I received the board. I studied the TouchGFX development environment after work and found it to be really convenient. You can customize the various buttons and background styles required in the GUI, and compile it to convert various image controls into CPP files. However, I don't have much time to focus on interface development for the time being, so I have to complete the design of the power architecture first.

The core of this design uses LTC4020, a 4MOS automatic synchronous buck-boost chip, as the controlled object. While serving as a digital control power supply, the 4020's built-in charging mode battery management function can also be used. The board's 12-bit DAC (or PWM mode) function is used to adjust the voltage and current, and the on-chip 12-bit ADC is used to retrieve I/V information.

The maximum operating voltage supports up to 55V, which covers most PCBA power supply requirements and is also suitable for charging management of four-string lead-acid battery packs.

As a qualified CNC power supply, CC/CV detection indication circuit is indispensable. I first used a dual LED as a signal output indication here. Later, the output of the two comparators can also be connected to the corresponding GPIO of 7508DK as signal input.

Output overvoltage protection is also essential:

(The hardware part of this work is drawn using the genuine authorized AltiumDesigner 22. After completion, it will be open sourced to the AD domestic version collaboration platform Digi-PCBA for everyone's reference)

Here I would like to promote AD's electromechanical collaboration platform Digi-PCBA, which is very reliable and easy to use!

You can view schematic diagrams, PCB plan views, and PCB 3D views through a browser without installing AD. It is much easier to use than the so-called open source LiChuang EDA in China (the following is for your reference)

Digi-PCBA can only view pictures, but cannot edit PCB and schematics, right?
