[RVB2601 Creative Application Development] LoRa Gateway Wireless Host Computer [Copy link]

I have finally completed the work developed for my creative project. This post contains the first three sections of the work design description document.

1. Project Background

Whether during construction or in use, civil engineering projects require real-time health monitoring of building structures, such as: inclination changes, wall sinking displacement, support pressure, concrete setting temperature , etc.

Traditional monitoring methods generally use on-site wiring, manual scheduled patrols, and on-site reading with handheld instruments, and the use of IoT technology is seriously insufficient. Therefore, this project will use LoRa networking and IoT technology to realize wireless and automated building monitoring applications.

II. Introduction

There are many LoRa gateways available , but they generally need to be controlled by a host computer. Common methods include serial port and WiFi. This project uses the WiFi module on RVB2601 to achieve wireless connection to a LoRa gateway ( taking the USR220 4G version as an example ), periodically send control instructions, and the instruction frame format uses the gateway custom protocol to control the gateway to wake up the LoRa terminal in the network segment and collect building health parameters through sensors. Then, the RVB2601 host computer receives the terminal sensor data collected by the gateway and forwards the received data to the cloud platform.

3. System Block Diagram

This system belongs to the standard IoT application architecture, which consists of the device side (including: LoRa gateway, acquisition terminal, RVB2601 host computer) + cloud platform (using OneNet public cloud) + application side (including: Android APP and Winform application).

The creative application of this project is that the USR220 LoRa gateway host computer in the device side of the project uses Wi-Fi to connect to the gateway. USR220 acts as an AP, and after RVB2601 is connected, a TCP connection is opened with it.

The work description video content is 5:10, which mainly explains the project operation process. The EEWORLD forum link is as follows:

Does the author mean the time when the sensor collects data, or the time when RVB2601 uploads data to the cloud platform?

Comments

To be precise, it is the time it takes for the LoRa gateway to reply, but generally, if the LoRa terminal can respond, this delay does not exceed one second. In actual projects, for building monitoring, this delay can be completely ignored.  Details Published on 2022-5-30 10:54

How is time gained?

Comments

The ntp method also took a long time to solve. Then the RTC was updated, and then the local time could be obtained.  Details Published on 2022-5-30 10:52

Personally, I think it depends on the specific scenario. Now there is an intention to transform to wireless in the field of building monitoring, and LoRa is a more suitable solution.  Details Published on 2022-6-1 16:33
