There are two main development environments, Keil and IAR . Here we take Keil as an example.

Step 1: Open Keil official website, URL: www.keil.com , click Product Downloads under Software Downloads on the left

Step 2: After entering, click MDK-Arm under Download Products

Step 3: Fill in the relevant information and click Submit , then click MDK536.EXE to download the Keil software

Step 4: Double-click the downloaded MDK536.EXE file. The installation process is relatively simple. Just click Next . It should be noted that the software installation disk should not be selected as the system disk.

Step 5: After the installation is complete, open the Keil software, click the File option in the menu bar , and then click the License Management... option

Step 6: Enter the key in New License ID Code ( LIC ) under Single-User License and click Add LIC . When the time under Support Period is greater than this year, it means it is completed.

Step 7: Install the support package for the GD32L23X series. Open the data folder, double-click GigaDevice.GD32L23x_DFP_1.0.0.pack , and click Next to complete the installation.

Step 8: Return to the Keil software prompt to load the support package, select Yes

Step 9: Click Project in the menu bar , click Options for Target , and then click Devices . When GD32L233 is displayed, it means the installation is successful. Then you can start programming.
