What is it like to ask programmers to write code by hand with pen and paper after a power outage? [Copy link]

At 9:00 on March 3, a large-scale power outage occurred in Taiwan Province without warning. It is said that the power outage caused a total of 5.49 million households in Taiwan to lose power. A local Taiwanese media visited the scene and learned that at around 9:00 on the morning of the 3rd, the Xingda Power Plant had a loud mechanical noise that lasted for half an hour, but no open fire was seen.

Affected by the power outage, a software development company in Taiwan had to let programmers write code with pen and paper in order to avoid delaying the project. "There is no other way. We cannot let the power outage affect the project schedule."

Then a very strange scene appeared: around 11 a.m., the company's six programmers were at their workstations, lighting up their phones and writing code with pen and paper.

I don't know what exactly this software company in Taiwan does? If the employees don't write code for a day, will the company go bankrupt?

It seems that the internal competition in Taiwan Province is also very fierce.

Haha, there was a time when I had to write a draft on paper before starting to write code, and only type the code on the computer after confirming it.   Details Published on 2022-3-14 08:54

To be honest, writing code by hand doesn't seem necessary. It wastes time and affects your mentality. It's better to type it.

I feel a bit far-fetched. I shouldn't write code, but I can still organize my thoughts.

Handwriting code? The supervisor must not understand technology. He might as well spend his time cleaning the house.

I once encountered a situation in summer when the company's air conditioner suddenly broke down.

Then it was basically impossible to work, but the company did not allow employees to go home.

Just provide frozen drinks to keep employees working

Some Taiwanese companies are really weird

Suddenly I found that there was no electricity. I can't write by hand. Never go out of power when writing code.

It’s almost inefficient. I might as well write on my phone and connect an external Bluetooth keyboard!

If you are given money, you must complete the project on time. This is normal. Power outages are state restrictions. It has nothing to do with the company.
