What is the function of this circuit in ESP32_Audio_kit? [Copy link]

I got the ESP32_Audio_kit development board a few days ago.

After looking at the schematic, I found this circuit in the USB2UART block.

What is the function of this circuit?

My understanding is that UART only needs TX RX, why does it need DTR RTS RST?

I hope you can give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

Didn't you see that IO1, IO2, and RST pins are connected? See my ESP32 Korvo board review article.

Through RTS and DTR, corresponding signals are generated during operation to put ESP32 into running mode or downloading mode. The advantage is that it can be controlled without buttons, but the disadvantage is that some software does not control RTS and DTR, and ESP32 may not run normally.

Thank you for your answer. If the program cannot be downloaded automatically, you can still RST manually.  Details Published on 2021-9-1 15:02

It is this https://en.eeworld.com/bbs/thread-1156053-1-1.html. Combined with the ESP32 manual, which pins will be used when selecting the bootloader mode at startup.  Details Published on 2021-9-1 16:14
