Will Ultra-Wideband (UWB) really be popular in the future? [Copy link]

According to the report "Ultra-Wideband Market Analysis 2021" by market analysis agency Techno Systems Research, the UWB market we often discuss today consists of four main application categories: real-time positioning systems (RTLS B2B), such as industrial and retail indoor positioning system applications; mobile phones (smartphones, wearable devices, consumer tags); cars and smart homes. Other applications include smart doors, gates and payments.

They further stated that global UWB shipments are expected to reach more than 200 million units by 2021 and more than 1.2 billion by 2027. According to their estimates, smartphones will become the largest application market for UWB in 2027, followed by automobiles, smart home devices, wearables, consumer tags and RTLS B2B.

UWB Market Forecast

This rapidly emerging market will inevitably bring huge opportunities to Qorvo, which has rich and leading UWB software and hardware accumulation. Qorvo also pointed out that ultra-wideband (UWB) may change the way we live and work. This technology can accurately locate the position of people and objects with centimeter-level accuracy, which is 100 times more accurate than existing positioning technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi. UWB gives devices real perception capabilities, bringing unlimited possibilities for mobile phones, automobiles and IoT applications.

The above is what Qorvo has given in the future of ultra-wideband (UWB) . Let's discuss it together. What do you think? Will this ultra-wideband (UWB) really be a future trend like WI-FI?

It just requires a lot of data testing. If you want high accuracy, the material cost and labor cost will be very expensive.   Details Published on 2021-12-21 16:41

Currently, the only positioning technology seems to be UWB, and I am planning to test it soon.

We have worked on UWB indoor positioning and have made several versions of positioning accuracy that are difficult to reach the centimeter level. Even at the centimeter level, the coordinates fluctuate greatly.  Details Published on 2021-8-30 10:52

The accuracy of UWB seems to be around 10cm, and higher accuracy is indeed not possible.  Details Published on 2021-8-30 13:05

Oh, is that so? However, many technical articles describe the positioning function as quite powerful. Does it rely on a special algorithm program to correct and achieve precise positioning?  Details Published on 2021-8-31 20:34
