I would like to ask what role an 8-wire three-state bus transceiver like the SN74LVCC3245A plays in a circuit. I think it has no other use except for reducing voltage and achieving three-state.

In addition to its functions, it is generally used to achieve two-way data transmission   Details Published on 2021-6-20 17:25

It cannot be called "step-down", it should be called "level conversion". As for the purpose, it mainly plays the role of a controllable "bridge", directionally couples data, and can enhance the load capacity. Of course, there are some flexible uses, which will naturally become clear after you have mastered the design ability of digital circuits. When you are a beginner, you should look at the circuits designed by others and understand why they are designed that way.
