Challenge and collect cards | Light electric vehicles and power tools are just the right time, Infineon invites you to join the fun! [Copy link]

The Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) segment, which includes a variety of light electric vehicles such as electric scooters and bicycles, electric three-wheelers and electric forklifts, electric motorcycles and low-speed electric vehicles, is becoming increasingly important in the electric vehicle market. Despite the success of LEVs in recent years and their promising development prospects, LEV applications face several design challenges that engineers must overcome. These challenges include: small size requirements, long service life expectations, growing demand for plug-and-play system-level solutions, and limited battery life and power scalability.

Similar demands are also seen in battery-powered power tools. Millions of families around the world use power tools to complete daily tasks or creative projects at home. Consumers want robust, reliable, portable and easy-to-use power tools, and consider low price and long battery life as key options. Battery-powered power tools must also be equipped with diagnostic and safety features to ensure high quality that people can rest assured.

To enable designers and manufacturers to meet these challenges and meet market demands, Infineon Technologies has introduced products using DirectFET packaging. DirectFET has the industry's lowest RDS(on) and the smallest thermal resistance coefficient at the same voltage. This packaging method has a unique and simple structure, and has made breakthroughs in bare chip packaging resistance, parasitic packaging inductance and heat dissipation capabilities. Compared with standard discrete packages, DirectFET's metal "can" structure enables double-sided cooling, thereby improving the efficiency and flexibility of the device in a given package. In addition, DirectFET is compatible with today's high-volume manufacturing processes.

DirectFET can solve the following 4 major battery application pain points. Let’s check in on the 4-stop roadmap and appreciate the charm of DirectFET!
