If IAR is opened slowly and has high CPU usage, it is likely that you are using the Chinese path. [Copy link]

Today, I opened IAR and just typed a few lines of code when the Source Browser Log window popped up, saying Failed to parse input files, and then the CPU fan started to speed up.

Open the Task Manager and see that the CPU usage of IAR has reached more than 60%. Sometimes there are multiple SourceIndexer.exe processes occupying CPU resources at the same time.

And IAR can't be closed normally, I can only end the task through the task manager, and then open it again, the same thing happens, and it falls into an infinite loop

This problem is actually caused by using the Chinese path. When IAR is opened for the first time, it will automatically open the project that was not closed last time.

This happens repeatedly when you encounter a problem with a project with a Chinese path and cannot close the project normally in IAR.

Change the name of the corresponding project and everything will be normal after opening IAR

It is true that Chinese paths are not very popular in software. I remember that many problems or problems I encountered were caused by Chinese paths.  Details Published on 2020-4-3 20:02
