Ink display driver with 32KB SRAM cache [Copy link]

picture

The Adafruit eInk Feather Friend can easily drive electronic paper (ink screen). It comes with a 256 Kb (32 Kb) SRAM chip , which means you can control up to a 300×400 three-color display (300 * 400 * 2 colors / 8 bits per byte = 30KB). This chip shares the SPI port used by the eInk display, so only one extra pin is needed. Also, no frame buffer is needed anymore!

You can use SRAM to set what you want to display, and then transfer the data from SRAM to eInk when you are ready .

. If you don't want to use this chip, the RAM inside the microcontroller will be used automatically.
