Automotive 2MP Camera Module Reference Design Using MIPI CSI-2 Video Interface, FPD-Link III and POC Technology

This camera module reference design addresses the need for small and medium-sized cameras in automotive systems by combining a 2-megapixel imager with a 4Gbps serializer. It also provides power and voltage monitoring capabilities for both devices in an ultra-small form factor. The design includes a high-speed serial interface that allows remote automotive camera modules to be connected to a display or machine vision processing system using a coaxial cable that transmits data and power. The 4Gbps FPD-Link III serializer/deserializer technology used in this reference design supports the transmission of uncompressed 2-megapixel video data and bidirectional control signals over a single cable with power over coax (POC).
