(NASDAQ: QRVO), a leading provider of core RF solutions that connect the world, today announced that Cees Links has been inducted into the Wi-Fi NOW Hall of Fame for his decades of contributions to the wireless industry. The honor recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Wi-Fi industry. Links will be a keynote speaker at Wi-Fi NOW USA, the global Wi-Fi expo that brings together industry-leading speakers and companies in the enterprise, carrier, home and public Wi-Fi sectors, May 14-16 in Washington, D.C. Cees Links is the General Manager of Qorvo's Wireless Connectivity business unit and is known as the father of wireless data. He started at NCR Computers, where he was responsible for developing the world's first wireless local area network (LAN) product, Wave LAN, in 1990. He continued to innovate in wireless technology at various companies, and in 1999 he reached a landmark deal with Apple to make wireless LAN a standard feature of laptop computers. In 2004, he founded Green Peak Technologies, which develops wireless technologies for ultra-low power, remote sensing and control networks for consumer electronics.
