Servo Drives [Copy link]

Is DSP or ARM more common in current servo drives? Is there a trend for ARM to replace DSP?

Use whichever you are good at. I have seen both DSP and ARM.

But from the perspective of the intrinsic performance of DSP and ARM, which one has more advantages in the field of motor control? Or is it that the performance of DSP and ARM in the field of motor control is already comparable given the current development level of DSP and ARM?  Details Published on 2018-10-17 11:46

Can you give an example? My understanding is that DSP has a stronger data processing capability and has an advantage in handling some occasions with higher performance requirements; ARM has a richer peripheral module, but it lacks control performance. Excuse me, is my understanding correct?

Relatively speaking, DSP has fast speed, data processing capability and unique multiplier, and is widely used in industrial products, while ARM has relatively low cost.  Details Published on 2018-10-17 14:37

My friend is a professional servo engineer, and he uses the STM32F103 microcontroller, and the products he makes are all high-end products! This thing is mainly in the software algorithm, and the hardware performance is basically enough.

Are you still working on servo drives? Are you still using STM32?  Details Published on 2018-10-26 16:33

Are you still making servo drives now? Are you still using STM32?
