DER-472 - 300 W Non-PFC Stage Forward Power Supply

Overview

This engineering report describes a 61 V (nominal), 280 W reference design for power supply operation from 90 VAC to 132 VAC. A 5 V, 4 A standby output is also provided. The main output of the power supply is designed with constant voltage/constant current characteristics, suitable for battery charger applications. The design is based on the TFS7707H running on dual supplies and without PFC input stage. It can operate at maximum power at 115 VAC, room temperature, without a fan, but requires forced air ventilation to accommodate low line and/or elevated ambient temperatures.
