TIDA-00779 is a 3.5kw affordable power factor regulator converter designed for room air conditioners and other large appliances. This reference design is a continuous conduction mode (CCM) boost converter and is implemented using the TI UCC28180 PFC controller and all the necessary built-in protection mechanisms that come with it. The hardware design has been tested and passed IEC61000 surge and EFT test requirements for household appliances.
