The OM13488 can be used with the Fm+ development board and GUI to evaluate nearly all of NXP's 8-bit I²C general IO expander product portfolio. Pinout differences between devices are handled via jumpers, while power can be provided by the development board or an external power supply. There is no test equipment installed on the board, however, the TSSOP16 package allows the user to solder the device of his interest to this board. Headers allow direct connection to the Fm+ development board and TotalPhase Beagle. By directly connecting to the OM13303 universal IO target board, the I/O pins of the universal IO expander can be directly observed and driven.
