R329 Development Board Unboxing Experience

It has been about 10 days since I got the board. Refer to https://en.eeworld.com/bbs/thread-1173908-1-1.html to light up the screen. Below is my unboxing experience.

  • hardware

The development board received has been assembled. According to the MaixSense product specification, the development board consists of a core board (Figure 1 ) and a base board (Figure 2 ), but it is actually also equipped with a camera and a display.

  • operating system

The operating system can be downloaded at https://pan.baidu.com/s/1S3jJ9wPnK7u3SFUY0NsuZg (password z2sq ). I used Armbian_21.08.0-trunk_Maixsense_focal_edge_5.14.0.img , which was decompressed from Armbian_21.08.0-trunk_Maixsense_focal_edge_5.14.0.img.7z and burned to a TF card using the Win32DiskImager tool .

Insert the TF card into the TF card holder ( 15 ) on the bottom board, connect the bottom board and the computer with a type C USB cable , and a USB serial port named CH340 will be added to the computer (Figure 3 ).

Use a terminal tool, such as SecureCRT , to connect to this serial port

Can directly connect to the board and debug .

Username: root , password: 1234. After the first login, you need to change the password. Passwords that are too short or not complex enough will not work. Then there is the normal operation wizard.

When using Armbian_21.08.0-trunk_Maixsense_focal_edge_5.14.0.img to start the system, the screen will automatically light up and print the startup status information. Connect an ammeter and observe the power supply status during startup. It is found that the initial startup current is large (Figure 7 ). After the startup is successful and login, the current basically maintains a stable value (Figure 8 ).
