[RT-Thread reading notes] First acquaintance [Copy link]

This post was last edited by qi777ji on 2019-4-18 10:00 Thanks EEworld! Thanks RT-Thead! I was fortunate to be selected. Today, I finally received the "RT-Thread Kernel Implementation and Application Development Practical Guide". I opened the express with excitement and anticipation! In the past, I have only been exposed to foreign OS operating systems uCOS and FreeRTOS. This time, I finally saw the open source IoT operating system with independent intellectual property rights in China - RT-Thread. It is really exciting. The most important thing is that it is an open source system written by Chinese people. For our country, chips and operating systems are a long-term accumulation process, especially operating systems. We need to establish a good ecological chain. Simply put, we need a large number of developers to participate in and form a development ecological chain. I sincerely hope to carve out a bloody path in this industry monopolized by foreign countries! Next, I will briefly write about my experience and feelings in the process of using and learning RT-Thread. I hope that we can get to know RT-Thread gradually. Maybe my level is limited, and I have just started to learn and use RT-Thread. I hope that my humble opinion can be a starting point for discussion. If there are any omissions, please feel free to give me your advice. I browsed the book these two days. RT-Thread supports many CPUs, especially the STM series widely used in current applications, and has transplanted the relevant bsp packages. You can get the source code and run it after a little arrangement, so that novices can quickly apply it to complex environment construction, which greatly reduces the learning time and avoids the work of reinventing the wheel. The system is mature and stable, with complete and rich middle-layer software. There are a large number of application examples on the Internet. In the "RT-Thread Kernel Implementation and Application Development Practical Guide", it starts from the most basic part of creating a new RT-Thread, writing the RT-Thread kernel, how threads are defined, how the system is scheduled, how multi-level priority is implemented, etc. It is very detailed and especially suitable for novices like me. The book uses the popular keil5 development environment for explanation. The problem is explained completely from a practical perspective, such as implementing thread creation, implementing ready lists, etc. It is very detailed, and the management of threads is also explained in detail. I have only read one-third of this book now, and the content is very detailed and meticulous, and it is worth reading.

RT-Thread is an open source IoT operating system with domestically produced independent intellectual property rights. It follows the Apache 2.0 licensing model and has accumulated more than ten years of open source technology and application experience. It is not only highly mature and stable, but also has a complete and rich middle-layer software and IoT components (such as GUI, network protocol stack, secure transmission, low-power components, etc.). The system has the characteristics of low resource usage, high scalability, convenient secondary development, and support for all mainstream chips and CPU architectures. It is widely used in multiple industries such as energy, automotive, medical, and consumer electronics, with a cumulative installed base of more than 40 million units.
