The production and manufacturing of safety Y1 & Y2 capacitors should generally adopt IEC standards. Y capacitors suppress common mode interference. The safety of electrical products, electromagnetic interference and other standards are becoming more and more stringent. Electrical products must be equipped with AC safety capacitors, which usually appear in pairs. "For the Y2 class capacitors used to suppress electromagnetic interference in power supply, they should be suitable for occasions where there is no risk of electric shock when the capacitor fails. When used for cross-line connection of power supply, they can withstand 5kV pulse voltage impact without breakdown. Generally speaking, for products working in subtropical areas, the leakage current to ground should not exceed 0.7mA; for products working in temperate zones, the leakage current to ground should not exceed 0.35mA. Therefore, the total capacity of Y capacitors should generally not exceed 4700PF (472). The capacitors connected in parallel between the neutral line and the ground line are generally referred to as Y capacitors. X and Y capacitors are both safety capacitors. The X capacitor is between the live wire and the neutral wire, and the Y capacitor is between the live wire and the ground. They are used in power supply filters to play the role of power supply filtering, and respectively play the role of filtering common mode and differential mode industrial interference. Safety capacitors are used in such occasions that after the capacitor fails, it will not cause electric shock and endanger personal safety. Safety level of safety capacitors Peak pulse voltage overvoltage level allowed in application (IEC664) X1 >2.5kV ≤4.0kV Ⅲ X2 ≤2.5kV Ⅱ X3 ≤1.2kV Safety level of safety capacitors Insulation type Rated voltage range Y1 Double insulation or reinforced insulation ≥ 250V Y2 Basic insulation or supplementary insulation ≥150V ≤250V
