Cypress Semiconductor's TrueTouch® Gen4 series of touchscreen controllers now include advanced features, such as proximity detection that turns off the screen when an object approaches the touchscreen to avoid false touches.
The Gen4 TMA468 controller can support a passive stylus with a pen tip of only 2 mm, allowing the touch screen to recognize handwriting up to 7 mm in size. This is an important feature, especially for texts that require enhanced recognition technology for reliable handwriting input, such as Chinese and Japanese. The controller provides very high accuracy and linearity with the extremely fast refresh rates required for handwriting and signature recognition.
