Introduction
Simply put, an OR gate element is a diode that protects the system from input power failures. This diode only allows current to flow in one direction. And the fault current is separated from the backup bus, so that the system can continue to operate from the remaining backup power supply. The active OR gate solution uses an integrated field effect transistor and control chip components to replace the OR gate diode.
