This is almost challenging something that no one in the industry has ever done, leaving the complexity of technology to ourselves and bringing the value of technology to our users. This is the simplest and purest idea in the hearts of our engineers."
Flagship-level design aesthetics, lightweight and lightweight for excellent hand feel
From the Find X3 series to the Find X5 series, OPPO has used an elegant integrated curve design to present the flagship aesthetic. This time, the curve element has come to the OPPO Reno8 series. The Reno8 series continues the flagship integrated shape of the Find X5 series. The 75° micro-arc is determined based on ergonomics. The back panel is polished through an art-level hot forging process and 8 polishing processes. The transition is made with a continuous curved surface, so that there is no gap between the camera and the back panel, avoiding the feeling of separation between the camera module and the back cover. The entire back panel and the aviation aluminum straight-edge middle frame have a smooth transition, providing a seamless visual beauty.
Reno8 Pro+ further removes traditional camera decorations, allowing light to flow smoothly across the entire back panel, giving the back panel a stronger sense of unity, as if a beautiful cloud is wrapping around the two cameras. On the front of the body, Reno8 Pro+ optimizes the flexible screen packaging process, and the bottom frame of the screen is reduced by 0.43mm compared to the previous generation. This is the narrowest bottom frame ever in the OPPO Reno series, providing users with a more visually impactful and immersive user experience. In addition, the OPPO Reno8 series has also optimized the internal component stacking solution. With a 4500mAh large battery and a long-life version of 80W super flash charging, the Reno8 Pro weighs only 188g and is only 7.57mm thick; Reno8 Pro+ further reduces weight, with the entire machine weighing only 183g and a thickness reduced to 7.34mm, reducing the burden on the user's wrist.
The Reno series is equipped with the Mariana® MariSilicon X chip for the first time, further improving the portrait video capability
In December 2020, the industry's first OPPO Reno5 series with portrait video as its core selling point was officially released, and the Reno series subsequently continued to explore the road of portrait video. After four generations of product changes, the Reno series is now undergoing a major upgrade. The OPPO Reno8 series is equipped with OPPO's first self-developed Mariana® MariSilicon X chip. Through the DSA new golden architecture concept, it has a maximum computing power of 18TOPS and an energy efficiency ratio of up to 11.6TOPS/w. It provides up to 20-bit Ultra HDR dynamic range capabilities and real-time RAW domain processing, enabling the OPPO Reno8 series to support chip-level 4K night scene video, chip-level HDR video, and chip-level App camera enhancement. These three chip-level image enhancements.
Dual-core portrait imaging system, more extreme portrait experience
Thanks to the Mariana® MariSilicon X chip, the imaging system of the OPPO Reno8 series can be seamlessly connected with the flagship chips of the Dimensity and Qualcomm dual platforms. It is combined with two customized sensors, IMX766 and IMX709, and the OPPO portrait algorithm matrix to form a dual-core portrait photography system, bringing ultra-high-quality portrait photography effects to the OPPO Reno8 series.
In the dual-core portrait photography system, the Mariana® MariSilicon X chip can achieve noise reduction by running the AINR algorithm on the NPU module. After a large number of portrait photos are learned, the AINR algorithm can perfectly distinguish the face area and background area in the image, and perform targeted noise reduction processing to ensure that the facial details are retained to the maximum extent while reducing noise. OPPO's self-developed 3A algorithm can achieve more accurate exposure, focus and white balance, making the skin color restoration under complex light sources more realistic. At the same time, through OPPO's self-developed TMC algorithm, the local area of the face can be adjusted separately in three dimensions, so that the highlights of the facial features can be retained. The super-resolution algorithm in the dual-core portrait photography system can greatly improve the clarity of the facial area and improve the problem of blurred faces.
On the software level, the OPPO Reno8 series supports native texture-level selfies, and provides all-round optimization for beauty effects in five dimensions: skin smoothing, whitening, three-dimensional, eye brightening, and neck optimization. Based on OPPO's self-developed 3A algorithm and color temperature sensor, it brings more accurate skin color restoration performance. At the same time, the AI blemish removal algorithm is upgraded again, which can perfectly remove pores, wrinkles and other blemishes, while restoring the real skin texture to achieve refined beauty.
In addition, based on the powerful autofocus capability of the Reno8 Pro+ front camera IMX709, it can achieve a 2x magnified selfie effect and close-up selfies of facial features. It can take high-definition photos of eyes, eyebrows, and lips in ultra-close-up, providing more new ways to play with portraits.
Dual-platform flagship chips, upgraded configurations across the board bring a leapfrog experience
In order to meet users' ultimate pursuit of performance, Reno8 Pro+ is equipped with the Dimensity 8100-MAX annual flagship chip, which adopts TSMC's 5nm process technology, has stronger performance and lower power consumption, and is equipped with up to 12GB LPDDR5 and 256GB UFS3.1 flagship storage combination, taking into account various large-scale games and daily use scenarios; Reno8 Pro is the first to launch the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 processor, whose architecture is the same as the flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the CPU and GPU performance have been greatly upgraded, bringing a smoother overall use experience in daily use; Reno8 is upgraded to the Dimensity 1300 processor, which responds faster in daily use.
In terms of heat dissipation, Reno8 Pro+ is equipped with the industry's exclusive supercrystalline graphite heat dissipation solution, while the thickness of the whole machine is reduced by 0.11mm compared with the previous generation. The total heat dissipation area is 2.2 times that of the previous generation. As a space-grade polymer raw material, the grain size of supercrystalline graphite is 40% larger than that of ordinary graphite, and the thermal conductivity is effectively increased by 45%. The total heat dissipation area is as high as 6465m㎡, which can achieve rapid cooling even when running large-scale games. Reno8 Pro is equipped with a 3D constant cooling central heat dissipation system, which uses high-performance graphite and superconducting VC liquid cooling structure. The area of the VC heat condensation plate is 2.5 times that of the previous generation, which effectively reduces the heat generated by games.
In addition to hardware, smooth gaming also requires software cooperation. The entire OPPO Reno8 series is equipped with HyperBoost full-link game frame stabilization technology. Through high-performance technologies such as graphics heterogeneity technology and GPA frame stabilization technology, the game scene is reconstructed and rendered to solve the problems of high power consumption and unstable frame rate caused by high-load scenes, providing users with a full-frame stable experience.
In addition, the screens of Reno8 Pro+ and Reno8 Pro have been upgraded to 120Hz ultra-clear screens, equipped with X-axis linear motors, which can provide 4D vibration when playing games, providing users with a realistic gaming experience. At the same time, the OPPO Reno8 series is equipped with a 4500mAh large-capacity battery and a long-life version of 80W Super Flash Charge, providing the Reno8 series with excellent battery life and a more efficient user experience. With OPPO's self-developed battery health engine, the battery's effective capacity is not less than 80% after a total discharge cycle of 1600 times, which is equivalent to a usage frequency of 4 years, saving users the trouble of after-sales battery replacement.
