  Citing Korean media The Elec, Samsung Display and OTI Lumionics are developing a new generation of under-screen cameras, which will first debut on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 next year and will then enter Apple's iPhone 15 Pro (tentative name) model in the fall of 2023.

  Samsung Display reportedly worked with OTI Lumionics, which developed a new generation of organic cathode pattern materials (CPMs) that are able to "open tiny transparent windows in the cathode and OLED pixel layers." This in turn makes the display completely transparent, allowing Apple to install its FaceID sensor under the display. When unlocking the display, the infrared sensor will work normally, leaving a display completely free of bangs and holes for users to enjoy.
