For a long time, many products released by Apple have been praised by the industry and consumers. Products such as AirPods Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and M1 MacBook Pro are definitely among the best products launched by the company in recent years. However, with the arrival of 2022, some of Apple’s old products and failed products that have been ignored since they were launched have no meaning to exist this year. Today we will take stock of these products that are about to be eliminated by Apple.
Apple Watch 3 (2017)
This isn’t the first time we’ve said that Apple should stop selling the Apple Watch Series 3. The product is still great for those who already own it, but we would never recommend buying it now or next year, even if it was relatively cheaper.
Apple Watch 3
The main problem here is that the storage is too small. The Apple Watch Series 3 only has 8GB of free space, which is not enough space for you to even update to the latest version unless you go for the 16GB cellular version.
If you're considering buying an Apple Watch but don't want to spend more on the new Series 7, the faster and more powerful Apple Watch SE launched in 2020 combines all the advantages of Series 4 and Series 5 at a very affordable price, which should be a better choice for you.
iPod Touch (2019)
The iPod Touch was once a great product, but it has now been forgotten. It is now difficult to even find it in a prominent position on Apple's official website.
Apple touted the iPod touch as being for "enjoying music and gaming," but the iPhone in your hand could do all of that, with a bigger screen and longer battery life. That's why the iPod touch was doomed to fail.
iPod Touch
I actually wish Apple would update this now-forgotten device with a bigger, brighter display, more storage, and an improved camera. While I think it's just as good to just buy an iPhone or iPad mini, there are still people who just want a device to listen to some songs, have some games and apps, and not be interrupted by other messages and calls (isn't that what a pure entertainment experience should be like?).
Mac mini (2018)
Apple is in the process of transitioning from Intel to its own Apple Silicon in the past two years, and now Apple is still selling a Mac mini with an Intel processor. It is more expensive than the M1, so there is a reason why you shouldn't buy a Mac with Intel now-Apple will abandon Intel sooner or later.
Mac mini
The Intel Mac mini is available with an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and up to a 3.2GHz 6-core 8th generation Intel Core i7, 64GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage. While it can still be a great computer today, it doesn't quite meet the requirements of an entry-level Mac, as it's nearly double the starting price of the M1 Mac mini.
Beats Solo3 Wireless (2016)
Since Apple owns Beats, we can't rule out the Beats Solo3 Wireless as a headphone. Since Apple recently discontinued the Beats Solo Pro, the Beats Solo3 Wireless is most likely to be next.
Despite its 40-hour battery life, the Beats Solo3 Wireless have the cheap look of Beats past products, and the Bluetooth version and function are too old and have high latency. Unlike the Solo Pro, the latter has a better and more premium appearance and details, as well as excellent sound quality (although it is not comfortable to wear at all).
Beats Solo3 Wireless
In our opinion, these are the four products that Apple should stop producing because they are seriously behind the times and have even been "forgotten" by Apple itself.
