Microsoft has rolled out the big December firmware update for Surface Duo 2, upgrading the firmware to version 2021.923.272, which is 258 MB in size and brings many improvements.
Surface Duo 2 new features:
Launch OneNote when you click the top button on your Surface Slim Pen. Requires Surface Slim Pen to be paired with Surface Duo 2.
Support for selecting the default display when folded in Settings.
Supports selecting a preference for answering calls while folded.
System performance improvements:
Addresses the scenario outlined in the Android Security Bulletin - December 2021.
Improve system reliability and stability.
Improve app navigation by adding support animations.
Improve camera usability.
Improve touch responsiveness.
Improved support for LDAC-enabled Bluetooth devices.
Improves the reliability of the Android Auto experience.
The new feature of selecting which screen to use when folded can simplify the operating experience of Surface Duo 2 users. Users can find update downloads in Settings.
IT Home learned that the new Microsoft Surface Duo 2 uses a dual PixelSense fusion display (5.8-inch touch screen, unfolded to 8.3 inches). These displays also support a 90Hz screen refresh rate and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
This dual-screen smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and has a triple-camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel telephoto, 12-megapixel wide-angle, and 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The Surface Duo 2 also has the so-called Glance Bar, which allows you to check incoming calls and text messages, adjust the volume, and check battery life while charging.
